Biography

Mr. Maik Weiß (University of Applied Sciences, Leipzig, Germany; Master degree (Dipl.-Ing.), Energy Engineering) works for AREVA GmbH as a project engineer on the fields of FAC analysis, planning of inspection programs, supervising of inspection teams and FAC-Software development. After achieving a diploma in energy engineering in 2008, he was active on implementation of FAC programs for different German NPPs and Swedish NPPs.

Wolfe Ryan EPRI, USA

Biography

Dr. Ryan Wolfe is a Principal Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) where he manages research in the areas of Flow Accelerated Corrosion and Erosion.  Prior to his current role, Dr. Wolfe managed the Steam Generator Management Program committee responsible for assessing corrosion issues affecting steam generator life, addressing the impact of deposit buildup on steam generator operation, and developing advanced water chemistry technologies. Before joining EPRI, Dr. Wolfe was a Senior Engineer in the Plant Materials division of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory supporting the design, construction, and operation of Naval nuclear propulsion plants.  Dr. Wolfe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science, a Master of Science degree in Metallurgy, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science from The Pennsylvania State University.

Yoneda Kimitoshi CRIEPI, Japan

Biography

Kimitoshi Yoneda graduated Tokyo University as a mechanical engineer and Joined CRIEPI in 1996. He engaged in research on thermal-hydraulics phenomena in NPP piping and components. Started FAC related study soon after the Mihama accident in 2004, and dealing with FAC loop test, modeling, and software development. He spent one year in EDF R&D Les Renardieres from 2012 to 2013 as an expatriate researcher.
